Love pizzas! Who don’t? Seldom eat them, never tried making them.. until today! Never thought that making a pizza would be so easy! Perhaps that explains the explosion of pizza chains over the years
Ingredients (make 1 pizza):
- 140 ml warm water
- 95 g plain flour
- 140 g bread flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 2 tablespoon semolina flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon oil (olive ol will be the best)
- Pizza toppings according to your taste
Method:
In a large bowl, hand whisk water, yeast, plain flour, semolina, sugar, salt and oil. Stir in enough bread flour to make a lumpy shaggy mass. Cover with a damp cloth and let the mixture rest for about 30 minutes.
Combine the remaining bread flour, and knead with a dough hook for about 6 to 8 minutes with low speed. A soft dough will be formed sooner or later. Let this dough rise for about 1 hour in a covered container.
Gently deflate the dough and stretch it to fit the baking pan lined with baking paper. My baking pan is square, hence the squarish pizza. Once the pizza is formed garnish it with whatever you desire. It is good to smear the pizza first with some sauce, eg. tomato sauce before adding the others. I put in mushrooms, mixed vegetables, Taiwan sausages and capsicums before topping with shredded mozarella and cheddar cheese…
Cover the pizza loosely with a plastic sheet, or put it inside an unheated oven to proof for 1 hour. The dough sould be light and puffy when done proofing.
Preheat the overn to 250 deg Celcius. Bake the pizza for about 20 minutes or until it’s browned all over.
Tastes great when it’s taken directly out of the oven. Crispy crust with soft filling! Yummy
